Your giving feeds people, animals, and what feeds them next.
A hot lunch at a school in Nuwara Eliya. A dining shelter built so children in Chitwan stop eating in the rain. Cataract surgery in Jaffna. A sack of feed for the shelter dogs in Skopje. Volunteers carried every one of them; someone else paid for them.

Why they keep showing up.
A volunteer, a supporter and the president of one country team, quoted from ACT's own annual and quarterly reports.
Funny — the shelter finally knows who I am. They thought I run a catering company and just have lots of extra food.
Cody GallowayVolunteer · Tennessee, USAAt the end, the children started holding me and I was crying feeling them. They are so beautiful! I received a lot of hugs, and so many of them said: 'Thank you, I am happy'.
Dr. AllanaSupporter · Amantani Island, PeruCody is a very inspiring volunteer. I am so happy that she is ACT Hero of this quarter.

It carries a four-year-old's name.
Ammu was Mohanji's daughter, and she died in 2000 at four years old. ACT began three years later, in India, and went global from 2012. Every 23 August, in whichever countries have teams, volunteers cook or plant or give blood on the day she died.
The whole storyWhen ACT was formed as an unconditional platform on the day of festival of lights in 2003, all that we thought was we should bring smiles to beings as best as we can.
Who does the work, and how it is counted.
The people on the ground, the way the year is added up, and the registration behind it.
Volunteer-led
The teams in every country are volunteers. They gave 41,202 hours in 2025 — cooking, driving, unloading, sitting with people.
The volunteersCooked and run locally
In Sri Lanka the school meals are cooked on site by women from the same villages, paid for the work, with the school principals overseeing each day.
Where ACT worksReported every year
Every year ACT publishes a report setting out what was served, planted and given — country by country, with the figures for each.

Today's ACT could be yours.
A meal, a tree, a monitor beside a cot. Someone paid for each of them, and someone else carried it the last mile.
