ACT4Ukraine was founded in 2022, when the new ACT Romania team joined Mohanji International Foundation and the ACT4Hunger platform to run a series of actions at the Romanian–Ukrainian border, helping displaced people.

Since then the pattern has repeated wherever teams already exist. In December 2024, when torrential rain left the Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka submerged, volunteers made a three-hour boat journey to deliver 1,500 kilograms of dry rations to 150 families — 600 people. In Bosnia and Herzegovina that October, volunteers reached Kiseljak, the village of Luke and an institution at Bakovići with 1,337.90 kilograms of food and 186 kilograms of hygiene products, and stayed to help clean homes.

The same year, a tornado tore through northern Durban; the storm claimed eleven lives, and the ACT team arrived at Tongaat with hygiene items, hampers and cooked meals. Teams also responded to the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Morocco, and to floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
