ACT4Ukraine
More than 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid to displaced Ukrainians, and a border hub built by a team formed that same year.
ACT4Ukraine was founded in 2022 with Mohanji International Foundation and the ACT4Hunger platform, spearheaded by the ACT UK team. More than 70 tonnes of humanitarian aid were distributed to people displaced by the war.
UK volunteers drove to Moldova, Romania and Ukraine in March 2022 with more than six tonnes of food, medical supplies and clothing, and set up an ACT humanitarian hub at Dorohoi near the border. ACT’s Romania team had been formed that same year and began at the deep end.
The work did not stop at the crossing point: food for seventeen families in the village of Broscauti, for elderly residents’ homes across the Botosani region, and for Casa Neemia, a children’s home receiving displaced Ukrainians. Volunteers who learned disaster relief here drove to the Turkish earthquake the following year.
