Blood donation drives in the United States
Drives held across the country in honour of Ammu, the child ACT is named for.
Blood donation drives were organised across the United States in honour of Ammu, collecting 106 units of blood.
ACT teams mark 23 August — the day Ammu died — by serving rather than commemorating. In the United States that has taken the form of blood drives; elsewhere it has meant painting a mural at a children’s home in Johannesburg, taking meals to an orphanage in Addis Ababa, or feeding birds and animals.
