Two new wells were completed in Batticaloa, bringing clean, reliable water to families who had been carrying it. An earlier well serves a community of around 75 people.

A well is a one-off cost that removes a daily one — hours of fetching, and the illness that comes with drinking whatever is nearest. ACT Sri Lanka has committed to enhancing water access further.
