Common questions
What happens after I give?
You are taken to a thank-you page that names the place your gift is going. A receipt lands in your inbox once the payment settles. If your gift is earmarked to a specific campaign, we send an update when that campaign reports back — usually in the next annual report.
How does ACT spend my gift?
Where you name an initiative, programme or campaign, your gift is directed there. Where you choose “Where it's needed most,” it goes to the work with the greatest immediate need. Country teams are volunteer-led, so much of a gift buys ingredients, feed, medicines or equipment rather than salaries.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
ACT does not currently claim tax relief in any jurisdiction on your behalf. If you are a UK taxpayer and Gift Aid may apply, write to us before giving so we can confirm whether we are in a position to help.
Can I change or cancel my gift?
You can cancel a recurring gift at any time — the next scheduled payment will not be taken. Already-taken gifts are refundable only in specific circumstances (duplicate transaction, fraudulent card use, or a genuine mistake within 30 days). See the Donation & Refund Policy for the full list.
Is the transaction secure?
Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider that processes your donation. ACT does not see or store card numbers. When you submit the form, your details are transmitted to the provider directly over an encrypted connection.
